Join Tiger Bay Club of Southwest Florida on September 26 for a Discussion with Lee County Board of Commissioners Candidates for District 2
An opponent has surfaced to face Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass in his re-election bid for District 2.
Bill Taylor of Fort Myers will challenge incumbent Commissioner Pendergrass for the District 2 seat in the November 6 election. Taylor will run with no party affiliation.
“I had a great conversation with my opponent,” Pendergrass said. “We shared that we both look forward to a positive conversation on the future for Lee County.”
Unlike many local elected officials, Commissioner Pendergrass and Taylor have long local histories. Both were members of the Fort Myers High School Class of 1981 and had long local careers – Pendergrass as a police officer and Taylor in the theater.
There are some distinctions between the two: impact fee rates, funding for Conservation 20/20 Fund, development in the Density Reduction/Groundwater Resource area in the east county, as well as processes for changing comprehensive land use plans in some county planning communities.
Both Pendergrass and Taylor will give their view points on these and other issues at our September 26 event!
